The Nottingham Imagination Library is a charity that gives free books to children from birth to the age of five.
A message from our Trustees:
We are deeply saddened by the death of Dolly Parton, whose extraordinary life touched millions through her music, generosity and commitment to children. Dolly’s greatest gift to us is perhaps her belief that every child should have the opportunity to discover the joy and possibilities that books can bring. Through the Imagination Library, she turned that belief into action, providing free books to children and inspiring a love of reading across the world. Her legacy will live on in every child who opens a book, discovers a new world and begins to imagine what might be possible. We are proud to continue that mission here in Nottingham, and to honour Dolly Parton’s memory by helping put books into the hands of our city’s children.

The gift of reading
The Nottingham Imagination Library is part of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which is a book gifting scheme that was launched in America by the singer. It was launched in Nottingham in 2009 and now has nearly 5,400 children registered to have a book delivered to their door every month – covering half of the city’s 20 wards
